Humility

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.John 1:1 (NKJV)
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. John 1:14(NKJV)
These two versus show that God and His Word and His Son Jesus are all synonyms. He took a human body to dwell among us only to unite us with Himself, to show us his true nature. His nature of Love.
Jesus was 100% man and 100% God (Philippians 2:6-8). Just imagine baby Jesus who was God, wrapped and nourished in the arms of His mother Mary. If Jesus tripped and fell down as a kid, He got hurt just like any other child. He had to be taught to speak, to walk and went through all the stages of childhood, teens and adulthood like we go through. Isn’t this the greatest sign of humility?
Did you know it takes humility to even receive from others? Until I got turned on to the Lord I refused simple favors from neighbors, friends and family…and a favor from strangers was a complete no no….the reason was that I was accustomed to being self-reliant or self-sufficient, I didn’t need people helping me. Either I didn’t want to trouble them, or thought I can manage my own situation. There were times I was prideful and there were times I felt unworthy to receive more than I deserved.
Thank you Jesus that I understand better than that today. God blesses us through people. He influences the hearts of people around us to bless us and you must be humble enough to see this truth and receive with gratefulness. And in His grace He often blesses us with more than we deserve. Gratefulness towards God is the key and thanking the individual or the source of your blessing is just as important. God is the source of all our blessings. Isn’t that awesome!
Our Lord God, who made the heaven and earth, gave us His only begotten son to reconcile us with God. He humbled himself and forgave us and gave us an eternal victory in this life and life after, all we got to do is receive. Are you willing to humble yourself and receive Christ as your savior?
Romans 1:12 states that every individual has a realization of Gods existence and power and they have no excuse to ignore him and be thankless. Only your conscious can testify to this statement. We all know in our hearts that God is for real, but He is a spiritual being and you need to use your spiritual self to acknowledge his presence. If engulfed with the cares of the world you will not be able to enjoy the fullness of life that Jesus has provisioned for you, but you will have no excuse.
Glory, honor and dominion belongs to God. Humble yourself under His mighty hand so that He can exalt you. It is a law, when you submit unto God, He will give you glory and you will be honored by God and among men at a time that God knows is most appropriate (1 Peter 5:6). Isn’t that wonderful?
Let us clothe ourselves with humility towards God and towards others in our life. Humility is not only for times when things aren’t going well for us, but for all times. In-fact the true test of humility will be when you are riding high in all areas of your life. But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”James 4:6(NKJV)
